Rock The Bullet 2023: Live Set In Support Of A Good Cause
On August 20, 2023, I performed a solo set of material at the Rock The Bullet Fundraiser Event on acoustic guitar. The setlist ranged from music of the 50s, 60s and 70s and also included some original material.
As posted on their Facebook Page, "SILVER BULLET 2.0 FREE family fun event to fundraise for the homeless and opioid crisis here in Sudbury. Asking for monetary or non-perishable donations which will be given to Momma Natalie & Kaylee's Outreach, and SOS. Live bands/entertainers playing all day and night long, Legendary food, ice cream, children's activities!"
August 20, 2023 Setlist
- Who’ll Stop The Rain
- Before
- Handle With Care
- Major Minor (planned but not performed)
- Peggy Sue
- Please, Please Me
- I Fought The Law
- What Can I Do? (planned but not performed)
- Brown Eyed Girl
- Sweet Maria
The event started a bit late, and so I was asked to cut my set a little short. So I removed Major Minor (co-written with Adam Walli in 2016) and What Can I Do? (I went and fell in love with you) a song I wrote in 2015.
Maybe next time.
You get nowhere at things like this acting like you're entitled to something. Your job is to show up before your allotted time, be ready go on when it's your time, do your thing and get off stage as quickly as possible for the next performer.
Unfortunately, I was not able to stay around too long after my set, so I am not saying this happened at this event. But I have done quite a few shows where people took too long to set up, played their full set (plus encores no one asked for) and generally threw everything off kilter.
I'm not saying this happened here, but it does happen.
Anyway, I was glad to be able to perform at this event. It was fun and provided me with a moment of clarity.
Remember, you're never too young to follow your heart.
Sincerely,
Mitch Ross
